Frequently asked questions
"Why do you work with a digital camera ?"
"For me, the digital camera is the ultimate instrument for capturing the interaction between light and matter. It allows me to meticulously dissect images until all figuration falls away. The result is not a 'photo' in the traditional sense, but an abstract translation of a moment of light, shadow, and matter within a space."
"The absence of people in your work : why ?"
"Humans are a temporary phenomenon. As soon as a person appears in an image, an anecdote emerges: who are they, what are they doing, how are they looking? That distracts from the essence. In my research, I seek what remains when the human presence falls away: the light, the shadow, and the fundamental laws of matter."
